Can I have both card types – an ANZ Salary Packaging Card and an ANZ Meal Entertainment Card?

What is it?

ANZ Salary Packaging Cards are a payment solution to access nominated pre-tax income for eligible cardholders. They are credit cards that can be used wherever Visa cards are accepted.

Who is eligible?

ANZ Salary Packaging Cards are only available to eligible employees of Not-For-Profit organisations (NFP) and Public Benevolent Institutions (PBI) who are entitled to salary packaging benefits under the current Australian Tax Office (ATO) legislation.

Who can apply?

You can only apply for an ANZ Salary Packaging Card through an accredited ANZ salary packaging provider. Contact ANZ for more information.

Account transfers

Under current Australian Tax Office legislation you cannot transfer money into, or out of, your ANZ Salary Packaging Card account except via your salary packaging provider. The ANZ Salary Packaging Card is only valid for point-of-sale transactions.

ATM use

You can view your card(s) balance at any ANZ ATM. Under current Australian Tax Office legislation you are not permitted to withdraw cash from an ATM with ANZ Salary Packaging Cards.

Balances

You can check your card(s) balance by:

          •  Internet: Log on to your cardholder web portal

          • At any ANZ ATM; or

          •  Telephone: 1800 614 741 (select option 1).

BPAY use

In compliance with Australian Tax Office requirements, transactions made via BPAY are not permitted with ANZ Salary Packaging Cards. If you wish to pay a bill using your ANZ Salary Packaging Card, you can select the credit card payment option at:

          •  the biller or merchant website#, or

          • via the biller/ merchant phone bill payment service#

          •  Where the biller provides this service/ payment option.

Branch service

ANZ Salary Packaging Cards are a specialist product provided on behalf of the salary packaging provider. As such, these cards not supported by the ANZ branch network. For assistance, please contact your salary packaging provider or the ANZ Commercial Card Service Centre on 1800 614 741.

Cash access and withdrawals

Under Australian Tax Office legislation, cash withdrawals are not permitted with ANZ Salary Packaging Cards.

Cash deposits or other credits

Deposits to the ANZ Salary Packaging cards can only be made by your salary packaging provider.

Declined transactions

Transactions may be declined as a result of:

          • The merchant being unable to obtain the required authorisation at the point of sale*;

          • The merchant has been incorrectly categorised by the merchant’s bank*;

          •  There are insufficient available funds on your ANZ Salary Packaging Card.

In these instances, you may be able to claim these expenses manually. Please contact your salary packaging provider to check if alternative options are available.

Delivery/ sending of cards

Cards are issued and despatched within 3-5 business days of ANZ receiving the required documentation. Delivery time is impacted by your location (metropolitan, country or remote) and is subject to AusPost service and delivery schedules. If you have not received your card within the anticipated time, please contact your salary packaging provider.

Deposit/ credit timings

Credits to your card(s) will appear by the close of business on the day funds have been received from your salary packaging provider. An SMS will be sent to cardholders who have provided a mobile telephone number and who have opted to receive SMS. If you have not received the expected credit to your card, please contact your salary packaging provider.

Disputes

As a cardholder, you must notify ANZ immediately of a disputed transaction and within 75 days from the transaction date. Transactions can be queried using the web portal under My Requests tab. To dispute a transaction, the cardholder must complete a transaction dispute form within 75 days from when the disputed transaction was made.

Inactive cards

Your salary packaging provider and ANZ will activate your card. If you experience a problem please contact your salary packaging provider.

Merchant acceptance

Whilst your ANZ Salary Packaging cards can be used anywhere VISA is accepted, this remains subject to the rules of your salary packaging program. To support your salary packaging program policy, some merchant channels may be blocked. For details please contact your salary packaging provider.

Missing credits

If you have not received the expected credit to your card, please contact your salary packaging provider.

Overseas use

Card use overseas is determined by the rules of your program. For details please contact your salary packaging provider.

PIN use

You can use your PIN at a point of sale terminal instead of a signature. You are able to use your PIN at any ANZ ATM to check your card balance.

PIN – forgotten or compromised

You can request a new PIN through the web portal or by calling the ANZ Commercial Cards Service Centre on 1800 614 741.

SMS

You can receive credit and balance notifications to your mobile phone via Short Message Service (SMS). Your details can be updated via the web portal if you wish to use this service.

About ANZ Salary Packaging and Meal Entertainment Cards

ANZ Salary Packaging and ANZ Meal Entertainment cards are a payment solution to access and use nominated pre-tax salary for eligible cardholders. They are credit cards that can be used wherever Visa cards are accepted subject to the rules of your Salary Packaging Program.

ANZ salary packaging cards are only available to eligible employees of not for profit organisations and public benevolent institutions. Only these organisations can offer employees salary packaging benefits under the current Australian taxation legislation.

Delivery of your card

Once ANZ receives the required documentation, we issue and despatch the cards within three to five business days.

Actual delivery time will vary, depending on your location (such as whether you live in metropolitan, country or remote regions) and is subject to AusPost service and delivery schedules.

If you have not received your card within seven to ten business days, please contact your salary packaging provider.

Inactive cards

Once your application form is processed, your card will be activated, ready for you to use. If you experience a problem, please contact your salary packaging provider.

Registering your card

To access your account, you'll need a user ID and password.

If you have already registered your ANZ salary packaging card, simply use your nominated user ID and password to login.

If not you have not already registered, select register in the login box above and follow the prompts. You will need to have your card number and security code ready.

BPAY use

BPAY is not available on the ANZ Salary Packaging Card or ANZ Meal Entertainment Card, in order to comply with Australian Tax Office requirements.

If you wish to pay a bill using your ANZ Salary Packaging Card or NZ Meal Entertainment Card, your merchant or biller may offer a bill payment option on their website or over the phone. You can use your card with website or phone bill payment.

          • Logging into the salary packaging web portal

          • Visiting an ANZ ATM

          • Calling ANZ Commercial Cards on 1800 614 741 (select option 1).

Declined transactions

Transactions may be declined because::

          • The merchant is unable to obtain the required authorisation at the point of sale

          • The merchant has been incorrectly categorised by the merchant's bank

          • There are insufficient funds available on your ANZ card.

          • The incorrect account type is selected. Always choose "credit"; cash-out is not available

If your transaction is declined, you may be able to claim your expenses manually. Please contact your salary packaging provider to discuss this option.

Missing credits

If you have not received the expected credit to your card, please contact your salary packaging provider.

Disputes

As a cardholder, you must notify ANZ immediately of a disputed transaction within 75 days from the transaction date. Transactions can be queried using the web portal under My Requests tab. To dispute a transaction, the cardholder must complete a transaction dispute form within 75 days from when the disputed transaction was made.
